DEEP WATERS
The ocean does not apologize
for the space that it takes up
it does not make excuses for the depths
that most people cannot handle
it cannot help but drown those who are
not ready to submerge beneath its fathomless waves
let this too be a lesson to us,
that we may expand as far as we need to
not apologize for the way others
are not ready to submerge into our waters
for those who might tell us to come back to shore
